Have a fun and safe time with the kids in Downtown Hickory the Friday before Halloween. Costumed kids aged 12 years and younger will receive treats from participating downtown stores.

The Spooktacular will replace the event held at Southside Park in years past and will be hosted on the Newton Courthouse Square. The event will include costume contests, games, prizes, storytelling, and "trunk or treat".
The costume contest will include the following categories: scariest, funniest, and most original. Contestants will be judged with peers of a similar age. Businesses or individuals who wish to participate in "trunk or treat" should call Catherine LaFevers at 828-464-8922.
